I got lucky on this shot. The Full Moon setting over the Red Hills is actually a tough shot to get historically. I have a few of this kind of image but not a LOT ……
Anyhow, the first ridge is 10 miles out and the second 40 miles out. I think what’s hiding the bottom of the moon is a cloud bank but I could be wrong.
I was working the moon much earlier then it descended into a cloud bank just above this window to the moon. It showed up for moon set on time to the minute
